Funding
Positions traditionally supported through state-funding will see their equity adjustment, if eligible, automatically processed and available on their December 1, 2022 paychecks, retroactive to October 1, 2022 effective date. These positions will not need to submit documentation to their dean's office accepting or denying their equity adjustments.
Extramurally or Non-State Funded Positions
We recognize that those managing positions supported on extramural funding need to carefully consider funding availability. Academics choosing to receive equity adjustments when funding may not be available for full-time employment should consult with their department to understand how a reduction in percent time could affect visa status and retirement or health benefits. Additional communication will be distributed through the dean's offices that include the equity adjustment and a form detailing options:
- Receive the equity adjustment or lesser amount effective October 1, 2022 (this may require a reduction of the percent time or period of employment until additional sources of funding are available). Once the equity adjustment is accepted, the equity adjustment cannot be reduced.
- Postpone receiving the equity adjustment or lesser amount to no later than June 1, 2023 (this may require a reduction of the percent time or period of employment until additional sources of funding are available). Once the equity adjustment is accepted, the equity adjustment cannot be reduced.
