General Information on Leaves for Academics
Leaves of absence may be granted for professional growth, service to government agencies, military leave, medical leave, childbearing, family care, and prolonged periods of research (sabbatical leave). Other leaves with pay or leaves without pay may also be granted. Section V. Benefits and Privileges of the Academic Personnel Manual (APM) outlines the University policies on leaves for academic appointees.
