Prof. Aldrin V. Gomes

Aldrin V. Gomes

Aldrin Gomes, Professor in the departments of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior and Physiology and Membrane Biology, studies the molecular mechanisms of signal transduction, particularly in the role of protein homeostasis in cardiovascular diseases. His research includes examining the side effects of commonly used drugs like ibuprofen on the cardiovascular system. His team has shown that ibuprofen can increase the risks of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

 

Susan M. Kauzlarich

Susan Kauzlarich, Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, has made novel contributions to research in the synthesis and characterization of inorganic solid state and nanomaterials for emerging technologies. Prof. Kauzlarich is also a recipient of the 2017 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Mentoring. 

 

Gary S. May

Gary May, Chancellor and Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is an innovator in semi-conductor manufacturing whose research also helped lay the groundwork for the development of artificial intelligence. Chancellor May has dedicated his career to the establishment of educational and professional development programs to ensure the success of students, faculty and staff from underrepresented groups.
