Dr Brown McNair is a renowned expert on underserved student success and co-authored the acclaimed From Equity Talk to Equity Walk: Expanding Practitioner Knowledge for Racial Justice in Higher Education (access the e-book through Shields Library).  She is the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Student Success and Executive Director for the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Campus Centers for the American Association of Colleges & Universities.

The title of her talk is Moving from Equity Talk to Equity Walk: Reimagining the Future to Achieve Student Success.

What are promising strategies for exploring the interconnections between campus climate, student success, and racial healing to achieve transformation? How can educators navigate these spaces while moving from equity talk to equity walk? This discussion will address how educators can engage in an inquiry-driven, reflective process to reimagine and to sustain a future of undergraduate education that is intentional about the ways in which student success is elevated and realized as a shared responsibility to support all students, especially those from historically underserved backgrounds.
